Dr. Priyanka, Congressman Posey To Speak At BCMS MeetingMay 11, 2010

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Medical Society will hold its general membership meeting on Friday, June 4, 2010, 6:30 p.m. at the Duran Golf Club in Viera.

Member and non-member physicians and their guests are invited to attend and the featured speakers will include Congressman Bill Posey and Melbourne physician Geetha Priyanka, MD.

Congressman Posey, who will speak about healthcare reform, represents Florida’s 15th Congressional District which encompasses most of Brevard County south of the city of Cocoa, Indian River County, most of Osceola County, and a small portion of Northern Polk County. Posey, a Republican, was elected to U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 and is currently serving his first term.

NAVEEN VENKATACHALAM, and his wife, Dr. Geetha Priyanka, created Sushoo, the first independent healthcare information exchange in the United States.

In the House, Congressman Posey serves on the Financial Services Committee and its two subcommittees on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government Sponsored Enterprises and Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology.

Dr. Priyanka will discuss the Health Information Exchange of Brevard, including Sushoo, the first independent healthcare information exchange in the United States. Dr. Priyanka’s newly designed product is also quickly catching the attention of healthcare decision-makers around the country.

Idaho is the latest state to give its seal of approval to Sushoo, which was launched last fall by the award-winning Doctors Partner, the electronic medical records and medical practice management software company created by technology entrepreneur Naveen Venkatachalam and his wife, Dr. Priyanka.
